Good day! Today I will tell you how we visited the National Park Paanajarvi for celebrating the New Year. Our journey began by train from Moscow to Louhi station, it took 26 hours to go. A bus was waiting for us at the station, which first took us to the Paanajärvi visitor center in the village of Pyaozersky. There we were all registered, told about the rules for staying in the park and given passes, because it is a border area with Finland.

Next, a bus journey awaited us for 5 hours already to the cardon in the park through a beautiful forest)) Upon arrival, we were all registered again)) And then another dobrok was waiting for us already on snowmobiles to the house itself))

And now we got there! The houses there are small, more like summer ones, but they were large stove, which we heated well and therefore did not freeze. There is no electricity in the house, in principle there is no electricity in the park, but if you agree in advance, you can rent a generator (I don't remember the cost). We didn't have it, but it was very romantic to be by candlelight. By the way, at that time there was almost a polar night and the whole daylight hours were from 2-4 hours a day. Our biological clock is stunned! A river flowed 50 meters from the house, (from where we got water for drinking and everyday life) it made an indelible impression on me! When winter is around and a lively, wide and fast river in the middle of the forest!

The next day, we just got used to and prepared for the new year, so nothing special. And on January 1, we had an excursion to the waterfalls, to which it takes 2 hours to ride on snowmobiles in one direction)) The waterfalls are clearly visible in the photo below)) And the kind guides even gave them to steer!))

By the way, the people there are very kind and they just there are others. They will never pass by and always ask if everything is in order and if help is needed. When we were traveling by bus, a car got stuck on the road and could not get out, we could not get the car out, and we loaded all of the people together with their belongings to us and drove them to the cardon, where they could warm up and call special equipment for the car. Be prepared for the fact that there is no connection, absolutely, none. Park employees communicate with each other on the radio. Distracted)) On January 2, we went for a walk to Lake Paanajärvi itself. The views, of course, are indescribable there. The nature is harsh, silent, the atmosphere is extraordinary.

3rd we also went for a walk in the nearby areas and also enjoyed the nature and views. In general, on the 2nd and 3rd days we had excursions planned, but, unfortunately, there was not enough snow in those places and snowmobiles could not pass there, so we just walked not far from our habitat))

And on the 4th we started our way back. As a result, I can say that the place is harsh, it is very far away, there is no civilization at all. And it was definitely worth it! The reboot is extraordinary, at least once in your life it is worth visiting it. And it seems to me that this place is not for everyone because of its severity, so before you go there, carefully study the information about the park and weigh all the pros and cons for yourself! Great adventures everyone !!

P.S. none of the photos have filters or photoshop)) I hope my story will be interesting for you, before new travels!
